Too Many Dreams Not Enough Schemes is a diverse yet cohesive collection of songs that show off Sabrehart’s love of breakbeats, fat, analogue synths and indie guitars. Highlights include Cake, which sounds like The Velvet Underground and Nico remixed by J Dilla and features the icy-cool vocals of La Petit Sonja. I Need You, which blends a pumping house-style verse with lush warbling synths in the Flume inspired, half speed chorus and showcases Emma S’s immaculate pop melodies. Or Ema Brabcova’s heavenly tones over skittering, percussion and intriguing chords on Floating.

The are no shortage of pop gems on this album and any of the vocal tracks could be potential singles but there are also a few darker, more experimental flavours to be savoured too. Album closer Piano Scratch starts as a delicate blend of glitching pianos and double bass which builds up to a heaving frenzy of synths, beats and samples, a perfect conclusion to a record that will transport you to a futuristic yet soothingly familiar parallel universe.
